Debt can't be a problem. Look at the stock market and the rate on long term treasuries! Nothing but rainbows and unicorns.

I watched a video yesterday about a small town in Maine. The videographer grew up in this town. He's 30 now. The man went to his nephew's high school graduation. All the speeches were safe: sports, good times, or just finding a way to survive somehow in the economy today. No one gave speeches about optimistic futures, hopes, dreams, etc. These high school graduates know the score. They all have to go elsewhere for jobs, homes, and a better quality of life.

The old rich are eating the seed corn and the young. The wealthy don't give a damn about the future. They want it all now and fear death more than anything.

"We like to think we're special and this moment in history is special, but alas, we're still running Wetware 1.0 which was coded between 300,000 and 60,000 years ago..."

true!

human nature is locked in, most people will follow their primitive drives to seek maximum daily resources, and most will discount the future in favor of more stuff now.

"There are only three options, none easy, and not making a choice is a greased slide to collapse. The moral rot of unlimited debt looks "free" but it's unaffordable in the end."

I disagree with "greased", in my opinion it will be a gradual prolonged slow slide to the end of IC, though punctuated by some severe down years.

the next few decades will probably be a mix of the three options.

no big deal, the average person MUST get gradually poorer for the next few decades.

and the average rich person MUST have a decline in the value of their assets.

no big deal there also.

Option 1 (debt elimination/Jubilee) would work if the rich were guillotined. It's happened before with mixed results.

Good luck with that. Those who Rule have the system locked down tight. They may throw some small fry to the rabble, but nothing more than that. Keep in mind that these are psychopaths. They are capable of anything. They would rather destroy the world, than lose power. Literally.

I was trying to explain to young person how ruthless these people are

And an old person

Most people do not want to face it

People are good they say

Well some are

The fellow with the moustache planned to liquidate two thirds of Eastern Europeans and enslave the rest

And there is a gen0cide happening right now

Interesting talk by a psychiatrist about human behavior

I jokingly meant that using the guillotine results in a mandatory wealth distribution. Sure much of it would go to the heirs, but a lot would be taxed, or distributed to the state, nonprofits, and more. So if the hypothetical guillotine option was used with the top 10 billionaires, you'd suddenly have billions (trillions?) in assets to redistribute and tax.

If you are waiting for a "revolution" I suspect its going to be a long wait. Thanks to the "educational" system, and the control it gives those who Rule. People are much more likely to turn on each other, than those in "authority". Keep in mind that while they are psychopaths, those who Rule aren't stupid. Much of this was designed long ago, for exactly the results we are seeing. You mention wetware 1.0 and its origins. Have you looked at what our species diet was through out most of its history? Meat and other animal products. In modern terms it would be something like beef, bacon, eggs, butter and some cheeses. With filtered water and sea salt added in. Plants were starvation food. Used only when meat and such wasn't available. If you have read the book The big fat surprise https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16130316-the-big-fat-surprise

you are aware of what a scam the modern national diet is. It is a major factor in the epidemic of type 2 diabetes, obesity, cancer, heart disease and countless other metabolic disorders. So, keep the general population ignorant and indoctrinated, Toss in lots of health issues, and you can strip mine a heavily armed population for generations. Some people have started to wake up. Even some MD's. This is a book written by one of them.

John Dewey made sure of that

Woodrow Wilson

America was an interesting experiment until 1913

But everything is so controlled now

Precarity prevents unrest

France has a better safety net but much more civil unrest

But cannot get rid of Macron and his mom

Opposition thrown in prison for being opposition

interesting

Kind of ironic

Entire western world is controlled by oligarchs now

Or corporate entities that Supreme Court says are people
