I remember expressing my opinion to some people that senators and congress people who supported the invasion of Iraq should face punishment of some sort to some Americans and they were speechless at the idea

Also have Vietnam Afghanistan Libya etc

Next Iran

Then China

We will all pay the price eventually

I think American citizens have accepted that they are powerless

Elon found out too

Where are the MIC cuts

lol

We are as powerless as the penguins on the beach, trying not to get squashed as two giant male sea lions fight it out above us.

And this is why all the screaming, which is just a convenient distraction for the elites, about this ideology or that party is just more noise for the mighty American Wurlitzer. Liberalism, conservatism, libertarianism, socialism, whatever it is that we are supposedly arguing about is merely a distraction.

This is especially true as the country I grew up in did function and this included all parts of it, but now nothing public or private does. If you want evidence of this, I personally remember Neil Armstrong landing on the Moon because of a government project that took less than a decade to successfully complete. It is so damn frustrating to see the lies just repeat over and over while the dying thing that is the United States is ignored.

Hoover Dam and the Empire State Building were built in record time and under budget. Today, the high-speed rail in CA is a $100 billion boondoggle that will never be completed.

One way to make corporations more ethical would be to require the CEO to personally pay 10% of the fine since they were in charge when they broke the rules. Additionally, the members of the C-suite and the board of directors would also be responsible to 10% of the fine. Why should stock holders be on the hook for the fine, they didn't make the decisions to break the rules. It will never happen but I can always dream :-)

Or just get rid of the corporate structure altogether. It’s an idea who’s time shoulda been over before it was ever birthed.

The CEO and board of directors should be responsible for ALL of the fines and some jail time.

Our current situation reminds me of the gas station scene in "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World". Jonathan Winters (Pike) is destroying a new gas station built by two brothers wearing white coveralls and caps. With the gas station almost destroyed and Pike going crazy, the two brothers pick up a rear axle and wheel assembly to use as a ram.

Brother One: We're going to have to kill him (Pike)!
