Very interesting essay. In his Global Inequality substack post of 4/13/23, Branko Milanovic reviewed Peter Turchin’s End Times: Elites, Counter-Elites, and the Path of Political Disintegration. Are you familiar with this? One quotation:
“In conditions where (a) the distance between the median and the top goes up (what Turchin calls “immiseration” although it is important to note that this is a relative immiseration; i.e., the median-income person can in real terms become better off), and (b) there is elite overproduction, a pre-revolutionary situation ensues. Immiseration is not enough. To produce a breakdown, we have to have different elites fighting each other, with one of them enlisting the support of the “people” in order to win.”
We have been granted an opportunity to hold the criminals in the government/bureaucracy accountable, only if those recently elected play offense instead of defense. For the past 8 years the powerful have exposed their willingness to say and do anything to distract attention from their obvious crimes and Treason by leading the offense against Trump and anyone who dares show him support. This is a war against evil and waiting to respond to the next onslaught of lies, propaganda and refusal to reveal the truth through redaction and outright rejection of congressional requests for information will doom any effort. Everything associated with embarrassment or corruption is hidden and our offense must start by revealing what’s being hidden. Get Matt G. in as AG and start arresting people who we have already investigated and hold them as terrorists taking away their rights.

As Warren Buffett said “we are in a class war and my class is winning”
Most Americans don’t even believe in “class” as it’s sounds unamerican
But Warren does lol

…order to win.” Not sure how to post comment, sorry.
When citizens united passed and wealth inequality graph would be interesting
My theory now is to be above survive mode need to be in top 4 percent in some “ability”
Whereas for my generation top 10 percent was ok
