Get a good ad blocker, stay off social media (except email), do your internet surfing on a computer rather than a phone and pay for content that you really enjoy on a frequent basis (including streaming services). That's what I do and I have not seen an ad in years.

For the first time in a very long time, I tried using one of the social media platforms for news about the current war. It was mostly fine as long as I stayed with a limited set of hand-selected feeds. What shocked me was how the algorithmic feed that came along with my limited feed was almost immediately wining and dining me with sensationalist content. Lesson learned.

any systems that are perverse are systems intentionally created by humans.

locked-in evolved human nature guarantees that humans will continue to do perverse things.

no big deal, all of this will be ending when IC ends in the 2nd half of this century.

Exactly. Perverse incentives will produce perverse out comes. Now, what perverted the incentives? Perhaps a focus on "growth" and profit at the expense of everything else? Perhaps because of the ever ongoing debasement of the currency? In other words, constant money/credit printing? By the Fed and its cartel of fractional reserve banks. Resulting in on going inflation and the resulting decrease in the purchasing power of the fiat currency. At least you didn't resort to the often heard phrase; "Government should DO something about that!". Because it is government(and its cronies in the banking cartels) who created the problems we currently face.
